Food Where To Go

The Hub @ Overseas Union Garden a.k.a Taman OUG

The Hub is a cafe like no other. Situated in a seasoned shophouse area in Overseas Union Garden, The Hub is a cafe that is unique because it is also an independent small-scale coffee roaster. This cafe was the first establishment where I was introduced to specialty coffee for the first time. It has since become a favourite of mine when it comes to sampling coffee beans from unexpected places. Stepping into this cafe, you are welcomed by the cosy atmosphere and the pleasant scent of coffee permeating the entire space.  mmmmm

Professionally certified by the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe, you can rest assured that the owners know their cuppa joe very well.

That's Nicholas there clearly in the zone working on roasting a new batch of coffee.

Roasted coffee beans, ready to be packed. They also supply some of their coffee to several cafes in the Klang Valley.

They have a coffee machine to cater to you latte and cappuccino lovers. Their mocha is made to just the right degree of sweet for me.

Nicholas and his wife take their craft very seriously. If you ever pay them a visit, find empty seats at the brewing counter and watch them brew away. Feel free to chat with them. Friendly and personable, their disposition alone will entice you to pay them another visit in the future.

Their ice drip coffee is certainly not something you see in most cafes. It is served at RM16 per cup. Check out the skylight behind the pillar, perfect for insta pics and beautifully lit shots.

Spot the variety of T2 tea leaves from Australia on the wall shelf.

Looks at the list! To date, this is the one cafe that I have been to that serves the most variety of coffee beans on their filtered coffee menu. They update their list from time to time and yes, they are roasted and treated with tender loving care.
I have sampled a number of their filtered coffee flavours and am always excited to see new beans on the menu. The beans from Taiwan piqued my interest and I will certainly be back to try them out soon.

And here you have other types of beverages, including the non-caffeinated ones and tea.

Feeling hungry? The Hub serves a selection of eats to satiate your tummy's needs. As you can see, there is a decent selection to choose from. Appetizers, brunch and also main courses are sufficiently variant to go with your choice (maybe choices) of coffee.

If you have a sweet tooth, they also serve a number of cakes. I have had the crepe cakes and my recommendation would have to be the salted caramel mille crepe cake. My tummy didn't permit me from sampling the rest but should you drop by, do let me know which is your favourite.

This is how filtered, hand-brewed coffee is served at The Hub. I had the Dominica Barahona this time around.

Their big breakfast was generous in portion and every component on this plate was well made. I will admit that I have tasted better but this will not disappoint. Just keep in mind that their focus is the COFFEE!😄

And here's the salted caramel mille crepe cake. It wasn't my first time having it and always something I looked forward to eating when I visited. For me, it was the perfect balance of sweet and salty, making it a delectable treat.

The Hub is a hidden gem that I guarantee will be worth the find. Don't settle for a one-time cafe hopping experience. Go back again and make your way down their menu. You won't regret it.
